Unity of Fort Lauderdale, a non-denominational church in Fort Lauderdale, recently completed a significant renovation project aimed at revitalizing its facilities to better accommodate its growing community. Managed by Danto Builders, a well-regarded commercial general contractor, the extensive remodel involved transforming the church’s interiors while preserving the building’s original shell. The updates included creating a new lobby, sanctuary, offices, ADA-compliant restrooms, an audio/video control room, storage spaces, and preparing for a future commercial kitchen.

Reverend Bryan Sawchuck commented, “Your unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in bringing our vision to life, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about our new space. Your willingness to guide us through every step of the way has been invaluable. Your organization’s professionalism and attention to detail are unparalleled, and we’re incredibly grateful for the extraordinary effort you’ve put into renovating our new building.”

This renovation mirrors the Unity of Fort Lauderdale mission to provide a welcoming environment that supports spiritual growth and fosters community bonding. Reflecting their commitment to inclusivity and community service, the redesign ensures every aspect of the church is aligned with its functional needs and vision.

The newly configured interior spaces were designed to be both inviting and functional, accommodating a variety of activities and gatherings. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a newly designed lobby that sets a welcoming tone, leading into a serene and spacious sanctuary designed for reflection and communal services. The office spaces have been optimized to support efficient church management and operations.

Incorporating accessibility, the project includes ADA-compliant restrooms, affirming the church’s dedication to inclusivity. Specialized areas, like the audio/video control room and additional storage, have been meticulously planned to support the church’s events and administrative needs effectively.

Anticipating future needs, the church is also prepped for the installation of a commercial kitchen, aiming to host large community events for themselves and others who want to lease the space. Infrastructure improvements included the installation of a durable and energy-efficient TPO roofing system, new exterior doors, and a storefront that enhances both security and the building’s aesthetic appeal. Upgrades to the mechanical systems were critical for modernizing the church’s heating and cooling capabilities, and the overhaul of the electrical systems introduced modern lighting and power solutions that enhance both functionality and ambiance.

The plumbing systems were upgraded to include a grease interceptor, supporting the future kitchen’s operational requirements. To ensure the safety and security of the premises, new fire alarms and security systems were installed. Additionally, a state-of-the-art sound system was added to improve audio quality across the church, which is essential for services and events.

The renovation project concluded with the selection of high-quality materials and finishes that reflect the church’s ethos and aesthetic values, significantly enhancing Unity of Fort Lauderdale’s ability to serve its community by providing a modern, functional, and welcoming space.
