When World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise agency and award-winning leisure travel company, needed to renovate their office space, they turned to Danto Builders for their expertise in handling complex projects.
This renovation was no ordinary task. It involved multiple phases, tight deadlines, black out dates, and the added complexity of working around the client’s daily operations without disrupting their workflow. Despite these challenges, Danto delivered a seamless transformation, completing the project in record time (Completed in100 of 144 allowed days.) and under budget.
Navigating a Multi-Phased Renovation
The renovation for World Travel Holdings was meticulously planned in phases to ensure minimal disruption to the company’s daily activities. Given the space was occupied and in use throughout the renovation, Danto had to carefully orchestrate each phase around the company’s operations.
The project kicked off in an open area where new trenches were made for future floor outlets, setting the foundation for a more functional and modern workspace. This initial phase was a crucial one, laying the groundwork for a series of intricate changes that followed.
Creating Functional Spaces with a Harmonious Design
One of the key aspects of this renovation was creating new functional spaces while maintaining a cohesive design with the existing office aesthetics. Danto built three new offices, including a focus room for concentrated work, a mother’s room for privacy and comfort, and a temporary space to accommodate immediate needs.
To ensure these new spaces blended seamlessly with the existing office, they used the same colors and finishes. This attention to detail ensured that the renovated areas felt like a natural extension of the original design, creating a harmonious environment that supports both productivity and well-being.
Innovative Flooring and Functional Design
Replacing the carpet might seem like a simple task, but in an occupied office with ongoing operations, it becomes a complex process. They aligned the new carpet pattern with the building’s floor plan, using orthogonal lines with a diagonal to create a visual flow that guides movement through the space.
This thoughtful design choice not only enhanced the office’s aesthetic appeal but also improved functionality. The new flooring design perfectly complements the cubicles, which were installed to provide a more organized and efficient workspace.
Revitalizing Common Areas for Better Collaboration
Parallel to these updates, Danto Builders renovated two break rooms, installing new white luxury vinyl tile (LVT) that breathed new life into these communal spaces. These areas are more than just places to take a break — they’re hubs of informal collaboration and social interaction. By giving these spaces a fresh, modern look, they contributed to fostering a more inviting and collaborative work environment at World Travel Holdings.
Phase Two and Beyond: Enhancing Functionality and Accessibility
In phase two, the focus shifted to the auditorium, conference rooms, and other remaining spaces. These updates were essential in enhancing the functionality of these areas, ensuring they met the evolving needs of World Travel Holdings.
Phase three involved modifying the entrance to the existing bathrooms, making them accessible from the other side of the building. This change allowed for independent use by a future tenant, creating adaptable spaces. A new partition was also constructed for additional storage, adding to the office’s practicality.
